Reservation Policy
Terms of Sale (the fine print)
Reservations may be made by telephone online or email. Reservations will be held 10 days pending receipt of deposit. We require a fifty per cent (50%) with your reservation. The balance of the trip fee is due ten days before trip date. Reservations made within two weeks of trip date require immediate full payment. To prevent financial loss, we recommend participants purchase trip insurance.

Reservation/Cancellation Policy

  • Your space is not confirmed until we have received payment in full.
  • We cannot make refunds for cancellations made within 2 weeks of the class/tour.
  • If you must cancel within two weeks of your class/tour, we will apply your credit to another class or river trip.
  • On-going river trips require a minimum of 48-hour cancellation notice.
  • We will confirm your cancellation.
  • Sorry, there are no refunds or credits for no shows or late arrivals.
  • You will be asked to sign an assumption of risk and liability release prior to participating in any class or tour. This is a requirement for our insurance carrier; participants may not join a class or tour without a signed form.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or curtail a trip due to weather conditions or other conditions out of our control. In this case, we do our best to provide you with another suitable date, issue a credit or refund.

Performance
It is sometimes necessary for Rubicon Whitewater Adventures to cancel or modify a trip because of unusual circumstances. We reserve the right to cancel or modify any trip due to weather/water conditions or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases we cannot be responsible for paying personal or trip related expenses, other than refunding fees paid to Rubicon Whitewater Adventures.

Participant Health
Our river trips are suitable for most persons in good health. However, We have no way to determine your health condition. When you sign up for a river trip you take the responsibility to confirm that you are in reasonably good physical condition with out conditions or medications that would increase your risk when participating in a river trip. If you suffer allergic reactions or are on medications–we need to know. Call us if you have any questions regarding this matter. Trip participants must understand and appreciate that river rafting, shore camping, and related activities involve certain inherent risks. Rubicon Whitewater Adventures assumes no liability for injury, fatality, property damage or loss consequential to these risks. To reserve a position on a river trip all participants must an assumption of risk and liability release agreement. Read the agreement carefully before you sign or send money.

Your Responsibility
You are going on a whitewater rafting trip in the wilderness, not to Disneyland, the mall or any other type of controlled environment. All water sports involve inherent risk, so you hereby assume all risks. Whitewater Adventures assumes no responsibility for trip members, their personal belongings or for the time and expense incurred. We assume no responsibility for theft or loss of personal property. Please leave valuables at home. We require all trip participants to sign a liability release waiver before embarking on our trip. All river instructions and literature will be spoken and written in English only. Because your safety is our primary concern, we require that you do not consume alcoholic beverages during the morning of your trip or while on the river. We also reserve the right to postpone/cancel or change a trip due to severe weather, fire, water fluctuation, road conditions or other circumstances beyond our control. If a trip is cancelled you will be issued a credit which you may redeem in the current or following year. No cash refunds will be given. If you have any health or physical problems, ailments, have obesity, or are pregnant, please consult your doctor before the trip. See below for information on low cost travel insurance which cover trip members for accident, injury, lost baggage, and cancellations claims.

Vacation Insurance
We recommend that all trip participants purchase vacation insurance. In addition to the physical risks of river trips, you may have financial loss if you have to cancel your trip. Check: http://www.insuremytrip.com/

    Gratuities
    Rubicon guides are well compensated and do not expect tips. However, it is customary in this industry to “tip” guides, especially if you feel your guide has contributed substantially towards making your trip exceptional.
